Mohandseen is just another district within Cairo, it is not a seperate city or anything. Mohandseen is a decent neighbourhood, lots of shops and is all about apartments, no greenery, congested & very noisy. I work in Mohandseen and I honestly do not like it because of the congestion & noise. Mohandseen is a combination of business and housing. A lot of companies and businesses are in mohandseen. It is also nearby several other important distrcits such as Zamalek, Dokki and Agouza.
People in mohandseen are just like other people in Cairo. Mohandseen in general houses middle to middle-low class. As I was saying, nothing special about Mohandseen, just another part of Cairo.
Let me know if need more details.

I used to live with my parents in mohandessin before I got married and moved out. People are ok there.Actually Middle to high-middle class people live there because low-middle standards and below cannot afford buying or renting apartments there. It's one of the expensive areas of Egypt.
It is true that it's very congested and crowded and thus noisy and takes you ages to get 1 kilometer ahead with a car.
It's a favorable area by Arabs who spend their vacation in Egypt, simply because it's full of shops, coffee shops, they can do all the shopping they want and streets are awake and active until the morning.
It was ok for me there because I could go out daily and I have zillions of choices to go to and because all I wanted or needed was just a phone call away. Everything home delivers (pharmacies, super markets, grocers, butchers etc etc)

Across a bridge and you'll find yourself in a totally different area, it's like you've travelled with time machine. you have to specify exactly where in Mohandessin.
