You should be more specific about the type of assistance required, but I'll provide some basic information.

The Boxer Rebellion occurred in 1900. It started in northern China and took a few years to develop. The Boxer groups attacked foreigners and Christian missionaries in China. They burned down churches and other structures associated with foreigners. The Boxers killed a German diplomat and Japanese diplomat. They attempted to destroy the foreign legation (which houses foreign diplomats) in Peking.

Historians have different reasons as to why this event occurred. Some blame European imperialism in the decades prior to the Rebellion. Related to this is the series of national humiliations suffered by the Chinese and/or arrogance of the Christian missionaries. Others attribute it to a famine that occurred in various Chinese provinces in the late 1890's. Some believe it was a combination of both factors, and some other less important factors as well.

In order to rescue the diplomats that were holed up in the legation headquarters, the different countries sent a number of soldiers into China to rescue them. The soldiers easily dispatched the Boxers.

If you Google Boxer Rebellion, you'll find a lot of good sources of information available on the Internet.

I hope this helps.
