A 20 lb. weight gain is not much during pregnancy. In fact, it is somewhat less than the recommended amount.
You should be able to lose 20 lbs. just by giving birth.
Just continue to eat healthy, and get some exercise, it will come off eventually. Please don't go on a crazy diet, especially if you are breast feeding your baby, you will need extra calories to produce milk.

I just had a c- section in August. When I felt that I could excersize again I started doing yoga and eating fresh fruits and veggies. I try to eat several small meals a day and I make sure to get a lean protien with every meal even if its just a yogurt. I'm also nursing which eats up alot of calories. I try to stay busy during the day and I found a friend to walk with. this has worked wonders for me and I not only feel better but I am now wearing my old clothes again.

I was lucky I was fit before and during my pregnancy. But like any normal person I put on weight while I was pregnant :) I found that with breastfeeding, eating healthy (no snacking) and exercise my weight went back to normal. You probably already knew these things but it's the truth exercise and healthy eating is the key.

Breastfeed. If you eat normally and breastfeed, the weight should be off within 6 months. Actually, my pregnancy weight was off in 6 weeks and I lost another 25 pound after that. Nurse nurse nurse! It works!

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

b-feeding really helped me, and of course I was careful what I ate. Eat healthy, drink a lot of water. It sounds like you gained very little weight, so I don't think you'll have a problem

Get yourself a one piece suit and get into that pool. It is the easiest way to lose weight without putting strain on your body. Also little babies like to swim too!

I started walking around... especially at the mall (it was winter). I also stopped drinking soda (even diet) and changed the way I ate--I didn't change my diet, just how I ate my food. Instead of chowing down on the mashed potatoes and pasta first, I ate veggies and proteins and ate my carbs last. Oddly enough, I ate less starchy carbs and had more energy.
