I'm a Dem. I disagree with that. However, regardless of how the repubs deny this, the first 9 months of the Bush presidency largely ignored the threat of 9/11. The 9/11 Commission Report says as much. I do think that the threat of terrorism is greater now that we have enacted the Bush doctrine though. How can you even attempt to resolve conflicts if you don't have dialogue? Case in point, Iraq. Look at how well that has turned out?

As a loyal Democrat, terrorism has always been the threat. Bush being in power did nothing to make that threat greater. Remember, whoever is in the White House, they represent America and to terrorists, Islamic terrorists, America is the Great Satan. Carter was in the White House when the Tehran embassy was seized. Reagan had the troops murdered by terrorists in Lebanon, Bush, Sr. had Kuwait, Clinton had the Cole bombing, the first WTC bombing the bombings of the embassies in Africa and Bush, Jr. has had 9/11 and this mess in Iraq.

These people don't care who is running America. They hate us no matter what.

It was a threat - it simply wasn't regarded as such because the attacks that had happened to that point (the embassy bombings and the first WTC bombing in '93) didn't kill many Americans (6 in the WTC and 12 in the embassy bombings, though several hundred locals were killed at the embassies) and Islamic extremists weren't considered a major threat to Americans. While there were a number of warning signs that Al Qaeda and associated groups were planning attacks (such as the foiled attempt to bomb LAX on the millenium), these never really penetrated the public consciousness.

It has been a threat since the mid 20th century. Unfortunately the big one hit us on 9/11, but don't forget about Oklahoma and an American terrorist, and don't deny the personal terrorist that haunt their wives, sons, and daughters...or the ones that wait in towers and shoot college students, or hide in cars and shoot anyone they choose....There is many kinds of terrorism and it comes from all sides not just out of the country......I am a Democrat, and I can't wait till there is a Democrat in the
White House, because Bush is a #$@$%%^&*()(&^$%##$%......

Correct. Bill Clinton created the counterterrorism fund and prevented america from being attacked. he left richard clarke, the man who knew more about al qaeda than anyone, for the bush administration and they thought clarke and clinton were "obsessed with this bin laden guy." The bush ad. never took al qaeda seriously until 911. too late. clinton stopped al qaeda from entering Bosnia and blocked they millennium attacks.

Why do people talk about the 93 WTC bombing? Do you think Clinton did nothing about it? Every individual who was involved was caught, charged and found guilty and are currently spending their lives behind bars. That's a success. They didn't know bin laden was involved until 1995.

On our own soil, each President (Clinton and Bush) has had one.
Both attacks were on the WTC.

At the time of the first attack (during Clinton's administration)
Osama Bin Laden was in country. Clinton had him and sent
him home. Who is to blame for 9/11? I know who is to blame,
see if you can figure it out.

If you need help with that, let me know. I will draw you a picture.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up

As someone who is left-leaning I feel that it was a threat during Clinton's administration as well. Do you remember the first attacks on the twin towers?
