Derek Jacobi is a world renown Shakespearan actor, and has had a role in just about every Kenneth Brannagh remake of Shakespeare's plays (i.e he played Claudius in Hamlet, the narrator in Henry V, etc.)

He is by far one of the most eloquent, talented and breathtaking performers in live theatre on the planet.

So, yes, I believe Derek Jacobi is indeed the "KING daddy" of theatre.

What does it mean to be the "daddy"?

Sir Derek Jacobi is a brilliant actor, and has been turning out great performances on stage on screen for decades. He's been making a lot of dubious career choices lately ("Nanny McPhee," "Underworld Evolution," etc.), but I suspect that, as an older male actor in today's world, that's about all that's available to him. Too bad.

I recently saw Derek Jacobi in "A Voyage Round My Father" and can confirm that he is still very much the daddy, a debatably blind daddy to be exact.
