How are LEDs similar to incandescent light bulbs? how are they different???? plz i want the answer so bad...because the teacher will check it 2moro??? plz...10 points infront of you;)

incandescent light bulbs are the normal bulbs that we tend to use. they waste more energy than LEDs. also, incandescent ligth bulbs will light up regardless of the electrical polarity where LEDs will only light with positive electrical polarity. i couldnt find similarities, other than the fact that they are both types of lights.

Other differences - most LEDs give off narrow spectrum light, incandescent bulbs give of white light. LEDs have very long lifetimes. They light up much more quickly. They don't change the color tint when dimmed. They require more complex power supplies.

Similarities

Some LEDs can give off near white light. They also generate heat, though not as much as a bulb. They can 'burn' out after a while, though they more often fade.
