Example-
To call an irishman a "mick" is now not acceptable. Why when for years there was no stigma attached to being called a "mick."

Example-
Why was "love thy neighbour" dropped by the tv stations when it clearly showed that the "white bigot" was the fool and treated as such.

Example-
Why was "the Benny Hill show" axed when it was at the height of its fame and never more popular at any other time.
Remenber it showed girls chasing Benny and not the other way round.

Example-
Why is it not a stigma for an underage or any unwed girl to become pregnant any more?

It was considered shameful when I was young, so whats changed tpo make it acceptable?

Do not answer the examples only the question.

It is difficult to explain social phenomena. You could attribute the change from politically correct to incorrect in numerous ways. The butterfly effect for one. Try reading recent bestseller book "The Tipping Point"...can't think of the author offhand, but if you Google it, you'll find it. it begins by explaining how a few kids in NYC began wearing Hush Puppies they obtained from a thrift store. The result was a huge surge in Hush Puppy sales, the likes of which had not been seen for a few decades. But alas, their popularity was shortlived...

I would love to know myself and from reading your examples i assume you agree with me when i say that political correctness has gone too fair!!!

For example, it is now politically incorrect to call a mind-map a 'brain-storm' as it may offend epileptics. I am epileptic and in no way see the term are offensive.

These days, is is very un-PC to be too PC.

Everyone is getting sick and tired of being PC just to please everyone else. So why bother to be PC to begin with; Why do we even try when no one is going to be happy about it?
