Have bowl problems.
So i'm going into hsopital ,for an Enema tomorrow.
Really apprehensive. Will it hurt ? What will happen ?
I've heard that u get bad cramps ? Is that true ?
very grateful for any answers. Thankyou.
p.s. I'm very private and shy, can i wear a gown ?

I think what probably they will do is use some sort of soap solution to clean you out. They'll probably insert a tube into your rectum and then pump the liquid in. You probably will get cramps, but you will definitely end up feeling you have REALLY got to go once the liquid is in you. And you might be spending some time on the toilet. This stuff sounds really scary, but there are a lot of people who go through it for various reasons and they survive. There are even people who like to go through it a lot because they believe it helps to remove "toxins" from their body. Weird, huh? I think they will probably let you wear a gown. My advice is to think of something you would like to do (like go to a movie, shopping, or listening to your favorite singer on CD, etc.,) and use it to reward yourself after you are done, so you have something to look forward to after the procedure.

It will not hurt at all you will have to hold it in for a few minutes.After a while you will be totally flushed out. You will be able to wear a gown and you may experience some cramps but not as bad.

It doesn't hurt, it's just kind of uncomfortable. Basically they put the medicine in, then you have to hold it as long as you possibly can. After that, you go to the bathroom. It's kinda like having diarrhea. There is some cramping, but not horrible. You'll get through it.

i had one when i was in labour so not sure if cramps were from that but an enema makes u go like u have the runs really bad.

baby girl no it will not hurt, but you will have to hold the fluid in for several minutes. that is the worst part. don't worry it won't hurt.

but if u r going to female doctor then y r u shy................
