Science Fair project. Any ideas?

I'm really into pschology and I need something in the behavioral and social sciences catagory. Pls just list ur ideas, nothing bizarre, and keep in mind, i'm only 12.

so far all of them are very good-hard to decide!

how do u hiccup? a Volcano? srry, I can't do that. nice try.
the first suggestion was GREAT, but unfortunately, my teacher wants it to be less than a couple of hours, 30 mins tops. thanks though.

if i do the sticking my hand in a frier, i wouldn't be able to write my report.

the last one so far, I would do it, but almost everyone @ my school does it.

"What Are The Effects Of Sleep Deprivation on Short Term Memory?"...

Have 3 people play the card game "Memory" (where you have 20 cards with pictures on them and turn them upside down, turning them over 2 at a time until you can turn two over and match them all) after getting 8 continuous hours of sleep. Then, the next night, have one person get 8 hours of sleep, on person get 4 hours of sleep, and the last get no sleep, the play the game again. Record your observations.

Get 4 jars and fill one with soil from your back yard, one with potting soil, one with sand, and pay a wet paper towel in the last. Put a bean seed in each one (placing the seed under the wet paper towel in the jar) and water them equally each day (spray the paper towel twice daily to keep it moist). See which method of planting produces the best bean plant.

This is what you can do: write down names of colors in the opposite color EX. the word green writen in red, black is written in white, blue is written in yellow, etc.Reference a color wheel, and do the opposite color. The point is people tend to read the color it is written in and not the actual word. It is quick to do and very interesting. I have a BA in psychology! It demenonstrates 2 interesting aspects of the relation between perceptual and mental processes. (1) When looking at an object it is difficult to attend one aspect and completely ignore another aspect (in this case the shape that forms letters. (2) Certain relatively automatic mental processes interact with, interfere with or enhance those you consciously INTEND to perform.

an easy one is light exposure, where you put someone under a certain amount of light and see how much energy they have for the day compared to normal. Like putting someone in strong light for an hour, another for half an hour, and none for the control.

Why not come up with a problem and then ask different racial groups and different sexes of people how they would deal with that problem to see if there is a difference between how different races react to things and how different sexes react to things.
