Proverbs 15:1 An answer, when mild, turns away rage but a word causing pain makes anger come up.
Hope this helps.

releasing anger is within yourself...hurting yourself isn't going to make you feel any better..your just going to feel pain after the whole adrenaline anger rush is over..and Hurting someone else isn't going to help either cause of the simple fact that you would get into serious trouble. Basically you need to think about whats going on and what's getting you upset..spend sometime listenin to music or chillin by yourself. Write things down..keep a journal..just don't do that "I am gonna slice myself cause I'm mad" i mean how mature is that???

I have MAJOR anger issues heh. going for a walk helps me the most. or listening to my favourite cd (heavy metal works best to release anger) if i can't get out n listen to music or go for a walk, generally i just close my eyes and breathe in really deep until i feel more relaxed... it doesn't work as well.. but its the only thing i can do when i can't be removed from a situation

The fact that you ASKED this question shows the beginnings of maturity.
Anger towards another almost always hurts YOU more than the individual you're angry at. That's why you have to learn to let it go.
I've found (believe it or not) that when I pray for a person I am angry at, I lose the anger. And something bad nearly always happens to them!

You should talk to a counselor because they may have some valuable suggestions including the possibility of medications to help the problem if necessary. You really need an unbiased opinion from a professional familiar with people that have the same problems as you do.

I pray, I know that may sound corny but I pray my rosary when I am really stressed. Mediating on something and removing yourself from the situation is really what is best. The more you allow yourself to be angry the more you will be angry. Good luck to you I have been there, the anger can be unbearable sometimes but at least you realize it is not healthy.

you might try meditation, or a punching bag. it not nice to hit someone else or the wall, they also hit back. find out what makes you angry and eliminate that from your life style, it is not as hard as it sounds. i do it all the time, but I still get angry over the dumbest things, usually from my own screwed up mind playing tricks on me. let your sub conscience guide you rather that the irrational conscience mind. it just wants to be in charge and it doesn't have the strength nor the wisdom. I practice this all the time, works sometimes, and sometimes not

I lock myself in my room, turn up my favorite hate music CD and usually just cry about it real hard until I finally fall asleep, and when I wake up I feel better, still mad, but not fuming. Then I can talk over my issues with the person that made me that way in the first place (if I feel like it). I know it sounds kinda silly, but it works for me!

You could try sitting in your car yelling to the top of your lungs, going to the local high-school and hitting some baseballs, playing really fun violent video games, normally only found on PC and playstation 2.

If it is really that much of a problem for you to control your temper, get a punching bag and beat the snot out of it when you loose it, but a better idea is to get anger counceling.
