Vehicle is a 91 Chevy S10 Blazer with a 4.3L V6. Engine idles alright, but hesitates badly. Replaced ignition module, coolant sensor, throttle position sensor, and idle air control valve. When i was replacing the ignition module, the inside of the distributor looked kind of crusty, and the pick up coil wires looked to be cracked in several places. Before the igniton module replacement, i found a code 42 which means spark control. I know the pick up coil connects to the ignition module. Could the pickup coil set the code?

NEVER replace a part till you know the problem. Code 42 is spark timing circuit code 43 is spark cobtrol circuit. All that wasted effort when it appears your problem is in the distributor. Without being there, and using your description, I would say a new pickup coil, possibly a new reluctor, new dist. cap, new rotor, a good cleaning and that should solve the problem Any time you have cracked ignition parts you have a problem. Be sure to clear your codes when repairs are done.
