I think it was on PBS and it had a really catchy tune. I think they wer eonly shorts. Someone help me out please.

I think Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings is what you're thinking of. I remember only parts of the song.

I think you're talking about "Chalk Zone" which aired on Nickelodeon not on PBS. I used to be a short though. The main character's name was Rudy. He has a blue chalkdrawn friend named Snap. He has a best friend named Penny. He finds this magic chalk one day while in detention. While writing on the board, he discovers that a tiny hole had appeared when he was writing the letter,O, He peeked through the hole and he saw a land made out of chalk! There he met his friend Snap trying to save him from a cyclops. Together they had many fun-filled adventures. Sadly, the show was a dud! In my opinion, it was one of those shows you would watch if there was nothing else on t.v.!
But it was OK.

malmapus is right on this one. It was shown on Romper Room in the USA, btw.
Chalk Zone was just some newer ripoff on Nickelodeon.

It was definitely ChalkZone on Nick not PBS. There were about 2 stories per show and sometimes they would show them singing songs in-between the stories.

Yeah.....um, the main character on "Chalk Zone" was Rudy. I don't remember what his chalk friend was called....It used to be just shorts, then Nickelodeon made it into a show. It busted.
