7 cans.
Make it in a fraction-> 1can of paint over 70 square feet = ? over 490 square feet (5 X 98)
Then to find out the question mark you would cross multiply (1X490)= 490 Then divide your answer by 70 (490/70=7)
So it would take seven cans to cover 490 square feet or a 5 x 98 foot wall.

How many square feet will 2 cans cover? You had better answer 140 square feet!

Now how many square feet is a wall 5 feet by 98 feet? Divide by 70 to get the number of cans. You may need to round up if there is a partial can involved.

Hello
First we find the sq. feet of the wall

98 x 5 = 490

490 / 70 = 7
7 cans of paint are needed

490 / 70
=7....
So you need 7 cans of paint.
