I hope someone can help. I have to sing tomorrow and I had a sinus infection that was causing my voice to start nearly going out and now it's scratchy. It's getting better but still not it's best. Does anyone know a good way to get rid of this. I know of hot tea and honey. Maybe someone can help me with a quick reliever? Thanks All.

gargle with very warm (not burning hot but as warm as you can take it) salt water. about four ounces of very warm tap water and a teaspoonful of table salt and keep gargling. repeat this procedure every couple of hours tonight and in the morning.

also, apple cider vinegar. sip on this with some honey over ice cubes and this will help you. does not taste real good, but it does help relieve your throat. this i have tried for sure. i hate the taste, but if you must get your voice back soon, this should do it.
good luck on your singing tomorrow. get well now!

I used to work in a medical clinic. A doctor I worked for used to suggest sucking on hard candy. Especially Lemon Drops. He said that the lemon would help relieve any drainage (usually causing the scratchy throat). And sucking on hard candy helps keep the throat moist. Also drinking plenty of water helps.
Some theater students I know, suck on a lemon before going on stage - they swear this helps the voice. Some will start the day before the perfomance.

This really works:

Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey and take 1 tablespoon six times a day. The vinegar kills the bacteria.

My voice was gone for like 1 week until my grandma told me to do this and I was screaming the same night try it & good luck!

dont drink anything with milk. Gargle 3x a day with salt water. I usually get soar throats from having post nasal drip. I use the salt water gargle, hot hot tea w/1/2 sugar and keep water water. and it usually clears up and I make sure that I take medication for my sinuss since that is the origin of the problem.

Honey and lemon tea always worked for me; adding a little mint helps some people as well. Ephedra/Ma Huang may help as well; it's a natural decongestant. Also consider aspirin/willow-bark tea; its anti-inflammatory properties can be a big help.
