Chevy s 10...don't even know if it needs replaced or flushed, the greasy blowout stuff is coming from the vents along with the Burnt sweet smell, haven't seen antifreeze leaking, I can check, Hard to drive because the greasy blowout discharge of course greases up the windows...My husband's truck, but he's not really looking into it and only drives it 2 miles to work. Heater core is only $60 at auto zone, but need to know if it actually needs replaced and how to flush it/check it out. I know I'M a chick, but I'm pretty good at this stuff when I'm told what to do!!

That does sound like a cracked heater core.

Autozone should also have a Chilton/Haynes manual for your truck.

Replacing the heater core is quite a chore b/c you prolly have to drain the radiator, and definitely have to take apart the dash to get to it, but if you think you're up to it, rock on!
