Yes, St. John's Wort has been proven to elevate mood, but like anything else DON'T start taking it w/o talking to a a trusted medical professional or a pharmacist. If you don't have one, read as much as possible on legitimate websites like alternative health guru Dr. Andrew Weil, WebMD, The People's Pharmacy etc...best of luck!

I tried lots, none of them worked. It seems we're all different, but in my case I found my depression was eased by hard physical exercise. Gym two nights a week, cycling, walking and running as often as possible, always running up the stairs, etc. I'm not cured but I feel a lot better than before. And my wife says I look better than I have done for years!

a well known one is Saint Johns Wort. it's derived from a plant extract, and has been proven useful in dealing with mild depression. u can get it from most health food shops / chemists. also, if u want a natural way of boosting your mood, try getting some exercise every day. u get a release of endorphins when u exercise. endorphins are 'feel good' chemicals.... i'm not one for exercising just for the fun of it, but i've definately felt better in myself since getting regular exercise every day.

If you felt like you had a spring in your step and a bluebird on your shoulder 24/7 that would be depressing. The simple fact you summoned the energy to ask this question through a medium like the Internet mean like gas this feeling will pass.

something called St Johns Wort
it is recommended not to take it with certain other medicines though.

There is nothing wrong with a good cry now and again.

I tell you the best antidepressent... music.

It really helps me, especially chill out ambient music and another thing I appreciate, the website called myspace....

I write to artists like Beth Orton and Board of canada and thank them for their beautiful music as it has gotten me throught some traumatic times.

Hope this has inspired you.
