France used Francs before the Euro. What you were reading was probably old information. Now the Euro is the accepted currency all across France. The only exception is the French Polynesian Colonies Franc used in French Possessions in the Pacific.

Well, let me explain to you, I'm a french woman living in Paris : in France we PAY IN EUROS but some people are sad we lost the use of francs so they continue to speak of prices in francs : generally the old people... and in some stores prices are shown in francs also but the national money is EURO. BUT do you know that some of our grand-parents keep on evaluate prices in ancien francs??? Hopefully not that much but imagine... :)

French use euros. If you go to Europe, euros might look different in different countries, but they are all the same euros and the value is the same. Not all Europe has accepted to use euros, like England or Sweden.
