Remove the bolts at the top of the strut tower (look under the hood). Then remove the 2 bolts that hold the strut to the knuckle.

Remove.

At this point you should do it right/easy and install a "Quick Strut" which includes the strut, coil spring and top mount in one, easy to install, totally pre-assembled unit. Altima's of this vintage are prone to broken coil springs so I always recommend quick strut assemblies instead of just struts.
