i have an essay due tomorow and i need help! okay, how long were they on the island, did any of them say their last names, and what year or around what time did the book take place!?!?!?!?!

I think they were there for 6 months to a year.
I don't remember any last names being mentioned.
And they were there during WW2. At least that's when the book was written.

I have read the book and seen one of the movies. I don't remember how long they were there, maybe a few months. I don't remember their last names even if they said them. But, I think it takes place in the '40's or '50's. Sorry I am not much help. Do your work sooner next time, good luck!
