That they claim belongs only to them?

I would understand when they do this about christmas, after all, they renamed it so it suits them and conveniently forgot, therough the generations, what it all used to be about. Nowadays, the majority is too brainwashed to wonder about the origin of things and they just blindly believe what priests and parents tell them.
What I don't understand, however, is how don't they realise the meaning of such a blatant fertility rite that is Easter, all with the eggs, rabbits and worshipping of the goddess Eostre. Come on, how blind can they be?!?

If you dig deeper, you might find that most Christian holidays are based on pagan holidays. They celebrate Christmas because it symbolizes the birth of Jesus. The pagan aspect is the goodwill crap that has been sooooo commercialized. And just what Christians claim that Christmas only belongs to them? And if it does, then why do so many non-believers feel quite comfortable in taking time off from work and crippling our economy for weeks at a time?

Christmas does have a deep pagan root in the traditions it passes. But a real Christian, like myself, celebrates the holiday for what it means to us, Christ's birthday.

Others can celebrate their own holidays, they can take down every Christmas decoration known to man, and even kill Santa Claus. If they did that, I would still be celebrating Christmas for the birth of Christ. It's not about the lights and the gifts, it's about giving and celebrating the destruction of sin through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

That is not all Christians. I think some people think that if you do not celebrate their faith, then you are bashing it, rather than seeing that we should all be free to practice (or not practice) whatever faith we choose. I am a Christian and I do not have a problem with other people choosing not to celebrate Christmas if it is not part of their beliefs. I would actually prefer that they ONLY celebrate it if they believe in it. If your heart is more into something like Solstice, I would get more joy out of you celebrating that because it would mean more to you. Does this help?
