I was 15 when I lost my virginity. I was really lucky I didn't wind up pregnant. I can't say I was pressured because the guy I was with was very patient and had never given me an ultimatum or anything of that nature (we dated for 2 years prior to the deed and continued through for 2 more years after the deed). I wasn't pressured by my friends because everyone I hung around with hadn't had sex yet or wouldn't admit to it. I guess I truely thought I was in love and was convinced that people in love have sex. The odd thing is sex didn't start to become enjoyable until I was about 19.

Usually low self-esteem and peer pressure.

Most young girls want to fit in and be liked by everyone and now days it's also meant to be "cool"... it's very sad..

So yes girls who aren't as sure of themeselves as other girls are more easily pressured ito sex at a young age, or they are under the illusion it's going to get them love and make them popular.

i believe it is because girls grow up so much more rapidly than guys and when they do this they tend to want to date at a higher maturity level and with this level are sometimes pushed into these positions. Also i think that the age is getting younger and younger because sex is advertised every were! And kids even at the age of 5 are hearing about it! If someone dosent do something soon we might have problems with this!!!!

They're teenagers. They are basically walking hormones. Their entire function is to have babies. Our culture says you aren't an adult until at least 18, or better yet, early to mid twenties, and that you shouldn't have sex til then. Their bodies are saying, "Babies! NOW!" We've just got a disconnect between biology and culture. Not, mind you, that I think 14 year olds should be having sex. I'm just not surprised that they want to.

lot of times, because mom is out on the corner selling crack, or mom is a Mexican housekeeper and a TV, etc., they've never even seen their old man, and they aren't convinced through a sensible upbringing that it's generally a pretty bad idea to get pregnant while you are still in grade school.

to hell with this "It's the hormones" baloney. I don't know about anybody else, but I gave the girls I raised more credit than cats and mutts and hogs and such that are incapable of resisting mindless urges, no matter what the cost of giving into them. And they didn't let me down.

Check the statistics on teen pregnancy, and cross-reference single parent homes.

Because they've been convinced by the media that everybody else their age already has, and they don't want to be the only ones that haven't. It's like the stock-market...everybody thinking it's true ultimately makes it true.

Basically this is a result of feminism:

Lack of father figure.

Promiscuous single mothers.

Society encouraging "independence" as opposed to marriage.

Certain organisations encouraging it because they can make money from abortions.

From what I can tell being a young myself I say it's because the parents let them, aren't there enough to know, or their folks just don't care so long as they don't get pregnant........it's sad.
