The short answer to your question is Yes, it can protect both accounts. However, it really depends on how you have the software setup. If you did a default setup, then there is nothing to worry about. A user with some experience could modify either the antivirus program to exclude certian folders and/or processes, or could modify the way a user account runs to reduce or stop the antivirus software from running. I don't understand what you mean by two accounts, but if you download and install antivirus protection, it's loaded onto the machine, not to an individual account.

All accounts as the SW has nothing do do with the accounts. It is used to detect viruses and other worms on the hard drive.

it will scan the entire computer files and programs, not just yours or the other person who may do a scan.
