FOCK OFF!!

2006-12-15 05:58:22 · answer #1 · answered by Gay Love 1 · 0 0

Not really. They publicize it more now, but they were always with us. Jack the ripper was a well publicized one, but there were many others as well. Every now and then some bucolic little town finds an old burial site in the woods used by a serial killer that was never suspected, much less caught. Generally they killed people on the fringes that weren't really missed. Every era has had a few well noted ones - but there must have been many more that were never discovered. People just went missing.

Humans are violent. Some become twisted and do horrible things. It isn't pleasant but it's true.

I don't know that it encourages serial killers but it may not help the cause.

I think with all the coverage we see of it on the news plus all of the crime shows that are out at the moment - there may be an increased awareness of it all.

I guess if you get some psycho watching these shows it may give them ideas but I guess it's whether or not they act upon these. Personally I'd like to see less violence in the media.

yes,
because some people will do any thing for media attention and lots of people think things like asbos are an honour but i dont think the media do it on purpous

no,
because in the end if you kill some one there will allways be a consequince (not a good one) and hopefully the media like this will make people think whats the point of me killing someone if ill just end up in prison or in some places (not england) death penaltys.

hope this helps

Not on purpose. It is the job of reporters to find news and present it to the public. However, some criminals see publicity as affirmation. For instance: When gangbangers kill an innocent person in a drive-by, they watch for the incident to appear on TV to prove to their homies they did it. It's possible that some murderers see reportage in a similar way. But this must not stand in the way of reporting, because people need to know what's going on in their communities.

Yes, and heavy metal causes teenagers to commit suicide.

And schools should stop teaching biology as by learning to disect animals will teach people how to murder and carve people up with knives. Schools should also stop teaching history because they discuss Nazi Germany, Hitler, the Civil War and slavery, which insights people to become ignorant racists.

Let's be real here. Media does not encourage anything that is not already within a person.

The chances are that someone nuts enough to do that will attach to whatever medium shows that lifestyle, be it films, games, literature etc.

The film 'Natural Born Killers' looked into this.

absolutely.

The "Evening Entertainment" formerly known as "The News" makes serial killers heros, legends, and "somebodies out of nobodies".

I wouldn't have thought this guy/gal has got much time to watch the news. He seems pretty busy strangling working ladies and disposing of them in similar areas of Ipswich. But yeah, if he/she even knows what he/she has done, it is probably quite pleased.
