I would like to spend some time working for a charitable organisation helping people, probably in the third world. I am not a qualified doctor or nurse, just CNA.

What's a CNA? aNYWAYS, there are the Peace Corps Volunteers, Habitat for Humanity, and in the Philippines there is the very prestigious Gawad Kalinga. We also have the Tsuchi Buddhist organization which is also very global. Good luck, and may your tribe increase.

There is a great book titled "Volunteer Vacations" that lists all kinds of organizations and work all over the world.
