1 Corinthians 13

LOVE, after all.....

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Love. What a thought provoking question~~~~
I am an active christian and I feel love along with gratitude inside of me all the time. I don"t know if I can define it.
The shortest verse in the Bible is "God is Love".
There are different kinds of Love, like that for The Lord, your Mother, your children, your spouse, and etc..
~~~~~~~~~~~ Still it is that wonderful feeling inside of you that I call "The Gift of Love", that gives you the feeling that all is right in your immediate world because you have it (Love). When love is in us and we love everyone we feel joy, happiness etc. in spite of what is going on around us because we have the gift of LOVE from OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. Love begets Love.
Have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year
To me, all love is unconditional. I dont understand when people say they don't love someone "as much" or "anymore". Love, once created, has no end, although it can change. And there is no "I love him more". Its infinite, and with no measurement. It just is. I think it coincides with the how energy, once created, never has an end, just changes.
Think I have to go with Margie and No One on this one. I would only add to No One's offering that it should be "someone," rather than "something."
There is no set definition; however, in my opinion: Love is when one's passion and reason agree...
