You need to put it in a room with a door you can close so that cats can't get at it.

ALSO if you have a REAL TREE you must separate the cats from the tree. If they drink the WATER in the base of the tree, there are other chemicals that leach out of the tree, into the water that can cause liver and kidney failure in cats. CHRISTMAS TREES AND PETS ARE A BAD COMBO!

Squiritng her with water will paintings. Everytime she is going close to it, squirt her from a distance yet do not enable her to work out the bottle. she will be in a starting element associating the tree with the mysterious flying water and stumble on common strategies to steer sparkling. you could also attempt mendacity tin foil lower than thr tree or tape mendacity face up, cats don't like both one. in case you already know everybody with a canines, rub some adorns or garland on the canines. LOL only kidding about the canines ingredient. may paintings yet kinda stupid.

Keep the tree in a place the cats can't get to - which, I realize, is a lot easier said than done. Keep a squirt bottle handy, and if they touch the tree, give them a spritz - after a few squirts, they'll get the picture.

Put the tree where they can't get to it. Actually ours used to climb into the limbs and sleep in it. We would see her down on the floor looking at it and all of a sudden she would be gone. We would look and look for her and suddenly the tree would move, and when we peeked in,there she would be wrapped around a branch, stretched out and napping LOL

The best way is to put plastic ornaments on the bottom and to get some bad smelling stuff that cat's hate. You can find that at pets stores and other places.

Get rid of the cats LOL They will not stop, it is fun for them, you would have to really "police" them to make them stop, cats are very independent, they make their own rules (you already know that, huh?). I would put non-breakables on the lower branches, and let my pets enjoy Christmas too.

I have so much trouble keeping my 2 out of EVERYTHING ELSE in my house that I didn't even bother with a tree this year. :(

I have found that the little inexpensive water pitols, come in
handy for training animals from negative behaviors. This is
not inhumane or etc. its just water..and it shocks them to get
shot....while misbehaving. SO, it only takes a couple of
"mis-demeanors" and they will stop!

Have fun!

I have a spray bottle with water in it and it seems to help mine from playing with the tree and ornaments.
