There are pros and cons to both. Fake trees last for years, real ones last a month or two if you treat it well. They can roughly cost the same depending on what sort of tree you want. Fake trees come in some grand varieties though. Some come fully decorated out of the box which is cool. Lights and everything.
Real ones just smell great and really bring the Christmas spirit into the house with it... but then seep sticky pine sap and shed needles all over the floor... and get stuck in the carpet... the needles are called needles for good reason...
And at the end... when it just gets old and worn out- you can just chuck out a fake tree... a real tree requires planning for disposal... if there's no tree recycling place in your area... and you dont have a fireplace... it can be like trying to get rid of a body...
I prefer real trees myself.. but now with small kids in the house I have opted for a fake tree the last few years.
Merry Christmas and happy tree hunting!

Definitely real, personally I think fake trees don't give the Christmas spirit and the smell can't compare to a real tree! Even though the needles fall off and stuff I just love the memory of going out every year in the snow picking out a tree, coming home and decorating it while sipping our hot cocoa and watching Griswald's family Christmas and listening to Christmas music!

I prefer real because of the tradition, of bundling up, and searching through fields of tree's for that perfect one, Plus the aroma it spreads throughout the house. But I totally see why people buy fake one, They are a one time fee (about 100-250) as opposed to now 45-75. Less messy, no maintenance. But I think I'll always stick with a real one...

technology have made the fake tree look very real over the years but if you like that pine tree smell you need to get a real tree or buy the perfume that goes with the fake one both is nice to me it's in the way you decorate that make a tree look nice and pretty

I love both. I love the smell of real evergreens. I hate the cleanup afterwards though. Fake trees are nice because they're often pre-lit and there is no mess to them. You can burn a scented candle or use room spray to maintain the evergreen scent of a real tree.

Real. An acre of Christmas trees produce enough oxygen for 18 people. Power plants can burn the trees to help produce electricity.

i have a fake christmas tree for a few different reasons. one being that in the apartment that i live in it is in our contract that we can not have real trees. (fire hazard) for a second reason i don't have time to vaccum up all the pine needles all the time. fake ones are just simplier to maintain and you dont have to go buy a new one each year you just invest in one tree for a long time.

I prefer CHRISTmas Tree. Fake can look very real, are reusable, and less hassel at Christmas. Some even have the lights already on them which is a plus.
