I have found it many times. I think that people change as they grow older and with every change we find something more or less necessary out of "love". What the societal rule is may or may not work for everyone... finding someone and sticking to it forever, come what may. Love isn't a one time decision. If you've committed yourself to someone and them to you you have to decide over and over that you will find love for that person in you and find love in that person for you. At the moment you cannot find love either in yourself or in the other person you can try to re-ignite it, but be honest with yourself and with your partner and love will find you both.

I did but lost it because I did not know what I had. When I realized it 15 years later we are both married to others with children and its too late. And I am so frustrated because when we were 19 and we broke up I did not really know what love was, or how precious it is. And I never got over him. He was always on the edge of my mind but I pushed those thoughts away thinking I was being silly. And now, a few months ago, we accidentally find out we are living two hours away from each other, in a different state far from where we grew up. When I see him I can't eat, I can't sleep, and I'm both miserable and ecstatic. While I highly doubt his feelings are as strong as mine he has some version of them too. But we cannot be together and I have stopped contact because its all just to much for me to handle and I need to lead my "normal" life and look after my family. My heart aches over the unfairness of it all...but that is life...thanks for asking and letting me vent.

I am raising both of my hands because I have found my true love. He is the best guy in the whole world. If there was a contest for best boyfriends in the whole wide world he would win hands down without a doubt.
