I'm gothic too so I think that we are awesome. I have been told I am emo for my hairstyle (stupid new hairstylist person). I think that goths in general are the best people that you will ever meet or be friends with. I know a few emos and they are like the perfect goth stereotype. Depressed, cutters, sad....I don't like that.

To be nice as well as honest, I would say that emo people, specifically, are just seeking attention. To proclaim that your emotions are more important or that you feel things more than another person is just ridiculous.
Gothic people, on the other hand, I think can have some legitimacy in their lifestyle. As long as you aren't wallowing in depression or anything like that, I think it's fine to recognize the more bleak aspects of life.

I'm still not exactly sure what Emo is...some new thing the kids came up with while I wasn't paying attention, I guess. This gets to my answer for you, though: Emo and Goth kids are just that...children or teenagers who haven't "found" themselves yet. You'll grow out of it. I wore all black my senior year of high school too. I got over it. A 30 year old walking around all "goth" is just sad. When a 17 year old does it, it's a phase.

labels are just a layer of what's underneath. Have you ever seen Breakfast Club? GOOD MOVIE!
But I always thought the "basketcase" girl was cute. You know-the quiet one who wore black and put pixy sticks and capn' crunch cereal on her sandwiches?
Okay, I'm trailing off. I think anyone who isn't afraid to be themselves is always adorable. So, just be yourself! If that means you're goth or emo then that is always hott in my book.

Well, real goths or poser goths? The legit ones (Bauhaus and Byron) are cool, the angsty teenyboppers in black (Anne Rice and MCR) are not. As for 'emos', I would probably like one if they were decent and nice enough. It seems as though most people who label themselves as 'emo', though, are teenagers or younger. Ever try goth.net or Wikipedia for definitions, kids? ;)
Anyhow, thanks for asking.

They are children. When I was their age, I was a punk, but I grew up. It is only a phase - honest. In 20 year's time, they will be trying to hide the pictures from their children,

They're misunderstood....people think they're devil worshippers. I went through a gothic phase in high school. They were known as 'Freaks" in my school.
