Ok so, I'm usually very regular, and I haven't gotten my period yet. I should've a bout a week and a half ago.
Recently, I've been cutting down alot on what I eat, and I've lost weight.
Also, exams are the rest of this week..
Could it be stress or sudden weight loss?
Will I be ok?
I'm still young, and want to have kids someday...
so yeah, this is worrying me alot...

Thanks.

It's probably a combination of your change of diet plus the added stress in your life. If you haven't started by next week, make an appointment with your OB/GYN.

Merry Christmas! (and stop stressing!)

It depends. If you are losing weight RAPIDLY and if you are being unhealthy about your weight loss then you can cause your self major issues in the long run.

If you are eating a well balanced diet, excersizing regularly, and losing weight in a healthy way then you can chalk it up to stress. I have gone periods of time where my period came 2 weeks late.

If youa re sexually active I'd sugest a preggo test. If you are stressed you need to take some time for your self and relax. If you are losing weight in an unhealthy way remember you are hurting your self more then helping

My friend missed her period as well. It was because she didnt have enough iron in her blood. It shouldn't be a problem. Go to your doctor and get a prescription for iron pills. Usually stress isnt the reason for a missed period. If its not lack of iron, it might be your sudden change in eating habits. Try to keep changes in eating habits gradual. And most of all; don't sweat it! Unless you have recently gotten over a bout of cholera or malaria (which can sometimes cause sterility) your'e fine!

I really wouldn't worry about being a week and half late. As you said, you've changed your diet and you're under stress and so being late is really no big deal. The other obvious option is pregnancy but if you're very careful or are not sexual active then you can almost strike out this possibility. Periods are odd things and take many years to settle down so please don't stress yourself out any more about it!

Don't worry. If you have been using protection and doubt think that you are pregnant then it is probably b/c of the weight loss. I think instead of cutting down on what you eat, you should change your diet so that you eat better quality and more nutritious foods. Your diet may be unhealthy and be causing the reaction. Whatever the issue is, you have to see that your body is trying to tell you something!

both. losing weight suddenly will make your period go away so that your body can put the nutrients into keeping you running. that's why anorexic and bulimic girls often don't get their periods. so chances are you don't really need to cut back on the amount you eat; just eat healthier and when you aer truly hungry and you'll be perfectly fine. stress can also casue your period to be late, especially fianls!! and applying to schools!! if you're still worried talk to your doctor and she'll give you some better advice.

Stress and weight loss both contribute to a late period. I would not worry too much. Getting on birth control (even if you aren't having sex) is always a good way to keep a regular cycle too.

Yes its most likely stress. My periods were all over the place when I had my exams this year. I've had periods for about 7 years now and they only go all over the place if something changes in my body like less sugar or stress/hormonal or emotions.

If your period still doesn't kick in go to the doctors.

Could you be pregnant? This would be my first concern of course! If this isn't a possiblity, then I would calm down because it is probably due to your diet changes or stress which can definately have an affect. Try not to stress about it so much and believe me, your "friend" will be here before you know it and you will wish that it wasn't . lol. Take care.

First of all , all that can be given are explanations in some cases but everyone's body is different. If you are too skinny or to heavy that can off set your cycle .Stress also plays a major role in your cycle, dependng on how long you stay stressed depends on how long you will be without your cycle .My best advice to you is to go get checked out .They can give you more of a detailed answer when they run tests.Good luck
