I lost it 2 hours ago at the schoolyard. It has my home phone number displayed when you turn it on. Do you think someone will return it? Why or why not?

BRIAROSE I am going to pick you as best answer ... (i have to wait 4 hrs according to Yahoo)... I read your reply... called called called. A boy answered the phone and returned my cell phone! Woo Hoo... I gave him twenty bucks which he reluctantly took. What a great kid. I am THRILLED!!!!! Thank you to all who gave your insights too. Sorry to those who never got their phone back. Cripes that is a really bad feeling.

Perhaps. But better to not tempt fate and instead call your phone. If you don't find it within a few days, notify your cell phone company and cancel the plan.
But call callity call call it. That way if no one has found it, they may hear it and pick it up.
But have some faith--I found someone's phone when I was walking in the park, and I called their house phone, and dropped it off in my neighbor's mailbox so they would come pick it up.

It all depends on who found it.
My brother lost my mom's cell phone a few years ago and we received a phone call asking us to give them money before they returned the phone. My mom said no, called out cell carrier and got them to fry the chip.
Last year, my boyfriend lost his cell while we were at the movies. There was a message for him when we got home. Someone had found it and they arranged to meet up so that he could get his phone back.

I really don't think you will get it back. Most people will just use up your minutes, and never give it back. The just think that if they get a free phone, then what the heck!! But I would ask the staff if they can look for it. You really need it back, and if someone stole it, then they can get in big trouble. Hope this helps! Good luck finding your phone!!

I hope so given the fact after you report it missing to your cellular provider, it is useless except maybe for a paperweight. Those are nice phone too. I guess that's why I'm cynical of the ones for sale on Ebay. All kinds of stolen things being sold there. If you have renters or homeowners insurance, see if they cover. Good Luck!

No Because school is filled with a bunch of irresponsible kids who think doing something nice is "uncool". Try calling your number and maybe they will pick up. If the person is nice, then he/she will probably meet you someplace to give it back to you.

Nope. But do call your service provider and suspend the service. I did that and got my phone back, but it was NOT anywhere close to a RAZR.

I think it all depends upon who finds it ~ If I found it I would gladly return it ~ other people might make a few calls first and than return it ~
