yeah, cuba's pretty great. That's why I've made myself a makeshift raft out of old tires and cereal boxes and plan on floating over there next week. Viva la revolucion.
Plus I hear they have great fried chicken

Interesting question however for myself I think that you should do research. Last I knew our economy is the Biggest and Strongest around with far more productivity than any other. We have low low unemployment. Poverty but nothing like many other places around the world. And we trade with many of our former enemies such as Germany, Japan, China, North Vietman and so forth.
Places in the Oil Rich Middle East may have vast incomes but it goes to the few Shieks and families and yet such as Saudia Araba the common people are very poor with little hope.

Good lord, none of them, we have by far the most successful economy in the history of the world -- other countries should be looking to the US as the model and get over their biases and jealousy.
There are specific things we could learn from other countries though, because in some specific things we are less progressively free market than other countries. For example, Canada has privatized its social security and air traffic control system. Some countries like Chile (I think) are even more purely free-trade than the US. And a number of countries consider it more important to teach real math in schools than to teach self-esteem. So there are things to learn and emulate.

It used Japan from 1955 onward. Did that help? The US needs to start clamping down on consumerism. France is a good balance of freedom, comercialism and socialism. Nobody tells a French man to eat crap food! ...and the people who, on average, live the longest in the world is a village in the South of France.

The US is ok. You've only got an $8 trillion dollar national debt to shoulder (mind blowing). I'd rather do business with the US than some grubby cheapo country with little reguation or laws.

The US. Other than Luxembourg (who's population isn't statistically sufficient), the US has the highest per capital GDP on the planet.
