What should I do with 2 good friends of mine if I found out that they re shooting heroin???
As far as I know, them and some people I don't know get together sometime, hanging out and doing drugs.
The main question is,
re my friends more likely to develop AIDS through sharing the needles with other people???

Run for your life, It is easy for them to get you to try it. No matter how strong willed you are,in time you will be caught with your guards down on a bad day so run while you can.

First of all, I think you should find some new friends to hang with before you get caught up in the drug scene. This is very dangerous stuff, I hope you are strong and smart enough to stay away from it.

Yes, your friends sharing needles makes them more likely to get AIDS than someone who does not use IV drugs. Heroin is so addictive, they prolly don't care about the risk of AIDS, they just want their next fix.

There isn't much you can do to help these 2 unless they really want to quit the drugs. Focus on making your life the best it can be.

RE: AIDS
Yes, they are at risk of transmitting HIV by sharing needles.
If they are repeatedly exposed to HIV, they increase their chances of it becoming full-blown AIDS. So if they are already HIV positive, it is even more important to stop so it doesn't become AIDS.

RE: heroin addiction - tough to break without spiritual help

If they don't want out of this addiction, the only thing I know that can help is pure prayer.

I have a good friend who prayed for a man to break free from his heroin addiction, even though he had no faith at all nor desire to change. Someone else in his family prayed for him, which somehow compelled him to seek deliverance prayer, which worked anyway despite his complete lack of faith. He was just as shocked as anyone else, but it worked.

My friend Olivia who administered the healing prayer said he told her later he tried his best to shoot up before seeing her. But the needle broke. And when he tried it again after praying with her, the needle broke again, which he took as a sign from God. He told her he was off heroin within 3 days without withdrawal symptoms. He was so transformed he gave up his old lifestyle and started his own outreach to help others overcome similar obtacles.

If I had a friend with a problem like that, I would call Olivia to make it stop. Her number is posted on this webpage:

If you want more information on the spiritual cause and treatment of addiction, I recommend the book "Healing" by Francis MacNutt (edition 2003) which also documents some extraordinary cases of healing suicidal and schizophrenic patients. These may seem unreal in terms of medical understanding, but make complete sense once you take into account the spiritual mechanisms that affect psychological, emotional and even physical conditions.

Love them. You do not have to hang out with them on a regular basis for you to love them. Be prepared that the more they get into the drug the less they will be themselves. It is possible that it is just a faze for them, but they need to learn their own lessons. You may tell them your opinion on the matter but don't try to interfere with their lives because there is nothing you can say or do, try to accept that. If they EVER ask for help, help them. Love them, they deserve it too.
As far as them being infected with HIV, there isn't much you can do about that. Don't share fluids with them. One thing you can do to help is find a local organization with a needle exchange program. That is a place they can take their used needles and they will be given clean needles in return, no questions asked. You could probably get more info about that from your local AIDS foundation.
