Politely correct the teacher. I actually know a professor who intentionally makes mistakes in class to see who is paying attention. He also does it to let his students know that he, like them, is human.

Don't ignore it. As a math teacher, mistakes I have made have been brought to my attention on occasion. It has never bothered me and gives me the opportunity to teach that EVERYONE makes mistakes -- teachers are not perfect and should never claim to be. So, my advice is to correct the teacher, but in a respectful manner.

It's better to correct the mistake. Just tell the teacher politely that he or she made a mistake. If you tell her rudely, then she might make the "mistake" of failing you. Just kidding. XP

Correct, but don't do it like a know-it-all... do it politely. For example "Mr./Ms. ____, I got a different answer when I did the problem, I got ____, and it seems correct to me. Can we check it?" Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, even teachers. The teacher will appreciate you were paying attention, and it will help the whole class learn.

As a teacher, I encourage students to watch me. I will sometimes make mistakes on purpose to see who is listening. When I make an honest mistake and someone points it out, I thank them for correcting me.

With that said, know your teacher. Some teachers may react negatively to your correction. Make your decison based on how you feel your teacher will react.

Correct your teacher. I've always told my students that I make mistakes too and please correct me if make one. I've worked with older students and made mistakes on purpose to see if anyone is actually listening. If the teacher is teaching another language, please be understanding. When I was taking both Spanish and French classes I was mixing up languages even when speaking English with friends.

we are all human beings and we all make mistakes. just because a teacher is full of knowledge doesn't mean she knows everything. so if she makes a mistake, kindly correct her without insulting or humiliating her!

Correct, but do not be impolite. Always correct!!! The teacher may be tired, or maybe he is just not goood enough, however he must think of the knowledge of the whole class - and so do you, so you should share your notifications...

I always thought it was fun to correct the teachers. But, then you can forget about them cutting you a break if you need it.

If you can prove it, then I'd take the teacher aside after class and point them to the right answer...best not to do it right in the middle of class, might cause problems later on.
