We just moved into our new house and the one closet upstairs has a funky smell to it.I've sprayed freshener in there and also now have a box of open baking soda sitting inside there but it still smells any ideas how to get rid of the funkyness?

use some pet odor remover, and not the heavy perfumed kind.
baking soda with warm water and lightly clean the walls and woodwork if any.
also after cleaning you can use some cedar chips in a basket .
if it has carpet, maybe the mat or padding underneath is the culprit and get rid of it.
another thing to try is an orange half with the pulp removed and fill it with koser salt put in closet to absorb odors

This may sound wierd to you but go to the store and buy a large box of the kitty litter that has the odor absorbing crystals. Cut off the top of the container and in a few days the odor should have disapated.

position a bowl of water interior the microwave with some lemon slices ~ or squirts of lemon juice and nuke at extreme for type of two minutes and 30 seconds. go away the water in there with the steam for type of 5 minutes and then get rid of bowl and wipe out. If there remains a moderate scent, think ofyou've got to repeat the technique ~ it relies upon on how dirty the microwave replaced into.

place a open container with vanilla extract in it, close the door and keep closed for a day or two. Vanilla is a natural odor absorber. you can also soak cotton balls in vanilla extract and place them around.
good luck!

Replace the carpet. If it isn't from that, it could be something in the walls or the like
