Well, sure there are a lot of churches or salvation armies and things that you can easily locate. But, I happen to have heard through a group that I am involved with here in Dallas, of a family with like 4-5 kids that are Katrina Evacuies. Their story was posted on our community email updates and we are collecting toys, food and clothes and helping them get a Mini-Van for Christmas. The Husband and wife are both working different shifts, so they can be there for the kids, but its been a very tough year for this family trying to get back on their feet. If you are Interested in donating to this family, I could get you more details, like address and numbers. I'm at reimentors@yahoo.com

There is a church in the downtown Garland area that recieves coats and warm clothing. I don't know the name or adress of it though. But you should be able to donate to a church in your area....they can find the perfect families that are in need for such items.
