what now?

The fossil dragonfly, Meganeura, that lived about 250 million years ago was probably the largest insect ever. Its wingspan was over two feet.

LONGEST - a tropical stick insect - 13 inches from end to end.

The largest living insect species, by virtue of having the greatest visible body mass and probably weight, are the giant scarabs, Goliathus goliatus, Goliathus regius, Megasoma elephas, Megasoma actaeon, and the immense cerambycid, Titanus giganteus. No clear winner can be declared on the basis of objective data, the candidates being nearly equal in this regard, but a visual comparison of all of them, side by side and scaled to maximum known size, may convince one otherwise. The heaviest weight reliably reported for any insect is 71 grams for the protected giant weta, Deinacrida heteracantha, of New Zealand.

Depends on how you define "largest".

Stick insect (15 inches long)

Acteon Beetle (The males can grow to be 3.5" long by 2" wide by 1.5" thick.)

Giant Weta (a rare and endangered New Zealand species that weighed in at 71 grams)

South American Longhorn Beetle (check in well over 5" on average.)

Goliath beetles (has been observed in captivity to consume an entire avocado in one day)

The Goliath Beetle. Weighs as much as a mouse.

You could argue that an ant colony can be considered a "super-organism", but that is pushing it.
