The Saints are the best team in the NFC. But the Charger are the best team in football!! The Saints will meet the Chargers in the Super Bowl. And the Saints will shock the entire sports world by beating the Chargers 34-31 in the best bowl game of the last 25 years!! The ESPN building will blow up!! Geaux Saints!!! We will rise from the muck and the mire !! Geaux Saints!!!

Except that's not necessarily what the Saints do best. They are not a grind it out team. New Orleans had explosive plays this season from 75, 68, 66, 55, 54, 41, 37 and 36 yards. The Saints ranked sixth in yards rushing in 2009, but they went 15 3 because of their passing prowess.
New Orleans allowed just 20 sacks during the season, but that's seven more than Indy's QBs made.

OK...let me lay it down. They are not the BEST team OR the HOTTEST team. The Hottest team is no doubt San Diego, damn that's a no brainer. The Best Team well I though it was the Colts....but I'm leaning to one of 3 Chicago,San Diego or New England...The Saints are close to the the Pats because they really have no real weakness and play as a Team. The Bears seem to have fixed the Grossman problem...but the Rams aren't really top compatition. To close....on a good day I think New Orleans could beat Chicago and go to Miami, but don't forget about Seattle, the Seahawks will the healthy come playoff time.

They are definitaly one of the top five teams in the league. Here is what I think: #1. San Diego Chargers #2. New Orleans Saints #3. New England Patriots #4. Baltimore Ravens #5. Chicago Bears

At this point, they are one of the hottest team in the NFL and certainly in the Top 4 of the best in the NFL. I would have to say that the San Diego Chargers are better than anyone right now. I would love to see, as much as I love the Patriots, a Saints/Chargers Super Bowl. Think about it. Brees would be playing against his former team, you got Bush vs. LT, that would be awesome, and a huge shootout. Who wouldn't love to see that??

the Saints are the best team and when they win the super bowl all them pissy azz whinny people will understand it.
See it didn't take long for some Dallas fan to call the win a fluke. Yea right a fluke? They took it easy on the cowboys kneeling another 7 points away. Now I will tell you why. They have best offense and their defense gets the job done. Anymore reason needed?

Gotta agree with Stephen H - I never looked at the Brees angle (playing his old team, going against Rivers), but I considered the possibility of a Saints/Chargers matchup in Super Bowl XLI. I'd like to see that very much, but *only* if the Chargers wear their old powder blue uniforms. And if they have to wear "road whites," I think they should get the old road design back as well.
(And to actually answer the question myself, the Chargers look to be the best right now.)

When "Good Rex" shows up, the Chicago Bears are the best team in the NFL IMHO. They are the full package: offense, defense and special teams.
When "Bad Rex" shows up, not so much.
I wouldn't mind if the Saints won it all, though, unlike a lot of other teams...um...like the Cowboys!

They aren't. The Chargers are! The Saints lost to some AFC teams which means that they will probably lose the Super Bowl if they make it. How can you lose to Pittsburgh?! The Saints don't have a complete D in my opinion.

Idon't agree the Chargers are the best thing happening right now the Saints are good but won't make past the first round of the playoffs they are really suspect on defense but they put up big numbers . defense wins Championships!!!!.
