You can play nintendo ds games on it, and there is a second slot for the gameboy advance games. You can't however play original gameboy or gameboy color games in it.

Yep. You won't have the neat DS-only features (the touch screen, wireless connectivity, and dual-screen graphics), because the games aren't set up for them, but you can play games from the GBA on your DS and DS Lite.

The second (bottom) slot on the DS is the GBA slot, where you can play your GBA games on your DS.
Please be aware that the DS can only run GBA games (not GBY & GBC games) & you cannot connect your DS with other GBA users, even with the wireless adaptors.
