Contact your Laptop manufacturer. They, more than likely, will send you a free copy.
I know Dell does this.

Most newer laptops have the recovery files on the hard drive usually designated drive D,If that is the case all you need to do is when you boot up the computer follow the prompt when You see the screen that says "to start system recovery press the function key shown" In my case on a Gateway laptop is is function key F11.
Check the Computer Manufacturers website and see if a recovery disk is available they cost around $20.00 if they are and some companies like eMachines won't sell you one also if the computer is old they may no longer support it.
An alternative would to take it to a computer repair shop and they can zero fill your hard drive and install a clean copy of the OS.
If you have the original product usually found on a sticker on the bottom of a laptop they will only charge you for the labor. If you don't have a product key you will have to pay for a new copy of the OS.

yes ,i recently needed to get a new recovery disc for my infinity p.c and all i did was ring the infinity helpline and 5 days later a recovery disc came through the door
if your laptop is still under warranty the disk wont cost anything, but if your warranty has expired the manufacturer will still supply a recovery disk, but for a small charge,
when you consider that a system recovery disk is really a windows xp disk in reality,a small charge is expected, however if you give them a tear-jearker story they may let you have one,i mean its nothing to them just to post a disk
to find the telephone number go to control panel>system properties>click on support information and the numbers will be there
good luck

The lenovo(IBM) the recovery software is built in the system! the good thing is you just press off and access IBM and you have it! However if your drive crashes like mine did $53 dollars later the disks were on the front door. So if you can get them for free more power to you!!
