It’s painful enough for anyone who goes through a divorce, but it’s worse that he/she is being reminded of the experience when very time his/her status is asked. A divorcee doesn’t want to appear to be hiding their history behind the “single” status, but doesn’t want to wear the burden of “divorced” forever. Therefore, when may one be single again instead of divorced?

I like the choices the IRS gives us: single or married.

I consider anyone who is not legally still married to be legally single, so that is the status I choose.

As a fellow divorcee, I became single again after he moved out!! The paperwork and court appearances were all just technicalities. We knew it was over when he left, therefore.........it was over when he left!! We had children in school, so because of that I continued to say divorced until they were old enough and it was known that their parents were married at some point. Now I just say.........
Single at last!!!!!

Better to be honest from the onset instead of always trying to cover up. That way too you never lied and youll feel better for it. There is nothing to be ashamed of being a divorcee.Nowadays its probably the norm, more than being single. Divorces happen and its best to get it out in the open at first, then let it die afterwards. That way youll never be sorry or have regrets. Good luck

I would say you are single the minute your divorce is legal.

I don't think its right for people to start seeing other people before a divorce is final, especially if they have kids. But once they are legally divorced... they are 100% single again.

well, technically, as soon as the paper work is singed. But in reality, as soon as your ready to be single again. To be honest, it's nobody's business if your divorced. I would just click SINGLE and be done with it.

When the papers are in your hand... Nothing to be ashamed of. We dont always know our soul mate. We can go a lifetime with-out truly knowing love but yet can be happy.

Choose your own title, your a free person now and it is up to you how you want the world to see you.

You don't have to lie, but you have no obligation to wear your past on your shoulder either.
