Prepaid serves its purposes. Prepaid is great if you hardly ever use a phone. It's the cheapest per month, provided you don't use many minutes at all. It's good if you can't pass a credit check and it's good if you have people using the phone that you think might rack up a big bill. Prepaid is good if you don't want to be tied down to a contract. If you want to talk a lot, prepaid is not for you.
For me, free evenings and weekends is what I like. I work all day and I don't need daytime minutes. I got a Cingular plan with free nights and weekends and I do get some daytime minutes for when I need them. What's nice about Cingular is you don't lose your free minutes at the end of the month. What I don't use rolls over to the next month so when I get some vacation time or a holiday rolls around, I usually have a thousand minutes or so which have accumulated over the months that I don't have to worry about blowing on my days off. What plan will work best for you is entirely based on how you'd use a cell phone. You can come up with any kind of plan to suit any kind of need. Would you text message? If so, how often? What about surf the web? Do you travel? Would you use mostly daytime minutes, nights, weekends, evenings, all of the above? How many minutes a month approximately? A well trained cell phone agent will qualify you with these questions to determine what plan would suit you best. Go somewhere where one store carries many different carriers so that you can get the best options. Don't think that places like this come without some sort of bias. Carriers often will give employees incentives at times for pushing their service over the others they sell and they might be looking to make a quick buck by suggesting one over another.
As for what phone itself you should buy depends on many different factors. What are you looking for in a phone? If you want one that just makes and receives calls, just get a free phone. Find a Nokia if you can as I find they have the best reception. Phones have so many features these days such as a camera, MP3 players, bluetooth for wireless headsets, web browsers and more. If any of these things interest you, that will be a huge deciding factor as to what phone you'll want to get. Of course, looks, or the "cool" factor can make a difference too. It all depends on you!

With prepaid you usually end up paying alot more for minutes than if you had a plan. Cingular offers a plan that is automatically charged to a credit card each month,, it doesn't require a contract and you can get some cool phones (like the razr). Ypu can also check on MyPoints.com you have to sign up, but they have some great cell deals. I got my new Razr V3r (with MP3) for only $39 with contract extension.

Walgreen's is the significant one which i comprehend of. you could also purchase them on-line at virgin cellular, in case you purchase a prepaid visa or draw close card it can make it allot less demanding for you. i comprehend that I only considered between the change decrease back phones in Walgreens the day previously right now, yet I stay in Iowa. best of luck!

Don't get anything but NOKIA. I used to deal cell phones back in Europe and I had all brands. But personally I only used NOKIA only. About the prepay... i don't knwo. It depends on how much you want to use the phone (if you use it alot... don't get prepayed).
