If you've been friends with this particular person for quit some time now. Lets just give him/her the benefit of a doubt forgive this time, and next time just cut this person loose. Because at this rate this is not a friend and they could potentially get you in a lot of trouble if you didn't do something and they are putting the fault on you for it, you don't need that kind of negativity around you.So just think about it and GOOD LUCK!

Cause they're jerks, and don't have any self esteem. And if people listen/believe them first, they think they can topple you.
They are just jealous and petty, and have no idea of what they are doing, because, it WILL come back and bite them in the a55!!

They can do it because they are terribly afraid of being found out. They are not being responsible for their actions. They can't be a very good friend if they can't be their own friend.

To ward the blame off themselves, they look for another victim....tada..........their 'friend'.
Confront them, and plainly tell them, "I thought you were my friend, I guess I thought wrong". Then walk off.
