Your going to have to not only use a lice treatment on your head but you also have to actually remove all of the nits on your head. The lice shampoos only kills the living lice. The nits are unborn lice eggs and they won't die by the shampoo alone. They have to be picked off the hair. Also as if that wasn't enough you have to wash all your linens in HOT water, vacuum your carpets and, use a lice bedding spray on things like your coach and mattress which cannot be washed. I know it seems like a hassle but it has to be done or else you will get re-infested again and again!

You can't beat tea tree oil shampoo/conditioner and a really fine comb for nits (and my daughter is the biggest nit magnet in the world).

Every month or six week treat your hair with some stuff called HEADRIN, (available from my wife's pharmacy and others) and you should keep on top of the problem.

You can get a kit of very fine combs called a bug busting kit by visitng www.chc.org/bugbusting for about £6

If you can't get to the chemist use conditioner. Put it on hair after washing and leave it on. It stops the nits from breathing. It actually works. You can also use tea tree shampoo. You need a nit comb as well to comb them out before more eggs are laid.

baby oil wont get rid of nits. You need to use anti lice treatment from the pharmacy that kills nits as well.
