A URL is the actual address you type in to get to a web page:

http://www.yahoo.com is a URL

a URL stand for Uniform Resource Locator. In english this means it is a simple "address" of sorts that will identify where certain data is stored. For example yahoo.com is a URL.

Universal Resource Locator = URL its basically your websites address.

the url stands for Uniform Resource Locator and simply means what you have to type in to get to a specific webpage

For example to get to yahoo we type
www.yahoo.com << this is a url anything like this is a url usually all have http:// before them.
