its the social life for most of them, they meet at casinos on their days off. i suppose its like the english meeting at pubs, some have one drink some get pissed but its a way of meeting their friends!

An accurate observation. I have an a friend who loves gambling, quite fearless when loaded! He returned from Hong Kong in amazement that the Chinese were more fanatical than himself, in terms of gambling fever. He assures me that he saw two raindrops running down a glass pane, someone chose one, and slapped cash down looking for offers.Perhaps the national psyche is devoted to escapist thrill seeking, after centuries of oppression, Mao, the work ethic, and state control possibly William Hill`s looks like a holiday camp!

I always see people from the chinese community heading to the bookmakers all the time. And these are ones who own chinese restaurants and takeaways. A lot of them have really nice cars too.

That is steriotyping big time. My husband is Chinese and doestn gamble and we live in Tacoma Washington and there are a ton of casinos everywhere. I've been in a couple of them and honestly,I saw more white americans then anything. (btw..I'm white) What a dumb question.

I think there are people from every culture who like gambling (unfortunately.)
