I can get the tip of it in but when ever I try to push it in it hurts really badly. I keep trying with the plastic one's because I here that they are better and everything but it wouldn't go in. I really want it to work because I get really painful periods and EVERYONE I ask says that tampons will help. So I really need everyones help!!!

Ok. Relax. That's why you can't get it in. Go to the store and buy some KY Jelly. It has to be KY, don't try to use Vaseline. KY is water based and is better for you. Put some on the first inch of the tampon/applicator. Follow the rest of these directions. It takes all of us a while to get the hang of this--don't worry:

Remember---get the KY Jelly! It will really help it slide in.

As weird as it sounds, a little bit of lubricant will help. Also, if you get painful periods, you may find that birth control will help, that's what I had to do. Also, in my opinion, tampons wont make your periods hurt less, start taking Advil at the first sigh of your period to help the muscles relax.
That's all for now,
Sarah

I have that same problem!!! What I think you need to do is insert it at a different angle. or maybe your position when you put it in is bad. Change the way you stand/sit. Try all of the possibilities, and if you still can't get it in, then talk to a doctor or something like that. God bless, and good luck!!!

If this is your first time using them you may wanna try using a slim fit tampon. I believe tampax makes a slimfit. Just relax it usually takes a little practice and getting use to. You'll get the hang of it no worries!

I use to have that problem.

just relax, breathe and try again.

I also switched to OB tampons the silkease ones and they work wonders!

it has no applicator so it goes where you want it, not where the applicator puts it.

so try those and see if it helps!

I think you just need to change the angle, it goes up and then at a different angle, its not straight, its slanted slightly.

Tampons don't work on virgins. If you are still a virgin, use maxi pads instead.
