Well there are websites that will let you do a background check on the person. You can find out about bankruptcy or crminal records. You can find just about anything with the internet. It's not free you would have to pay at least $20.00 or more.

I believe there is a government office for bankruptcy. If you go ogle it I am sure something will come up. Make sure you get the right country on go ogle. There are lists of bankrupts held and you are allowed access to them if you give a valid reason.
