the questions you have asked are most unlikely when buying a new house from wimpey and your solicitor would sort all this out for you

Yes, the lending institution wants to make sure there are no encroachments on the property and you will want to know that also. The horror story is; your house could be right in the middle of another property, you would only own half. You would have to either move the house or buy it from the half owner. So you see it's good for everyone, trouble is closing costs are getting so high that people have shyed away from many a deal because of it.

yep, have you seen the state of wimpey homes ?

why would you trust someone who's only interest is to sell you the property, to tell you its OK ?

in most u s cities the answer is yes. because the info is needed for the abstract deed and to protect you from paying too much or too little tax
