You can't generalize that way. I frankly don't think most say happy holidays. I say it somethings to cover both christmas and the new year. But also, to cover hannekuh (sic) and/or Kwanza... Its not to offend- its to be inclusive and cover all holidays.
So, some people get merry christmas, some get happy holidays, some get happy hannekuh - if I know they're jewish.
Why do we make such a big deal out of nothing-- geez, grow up people. Say what you want to...if people get offended then its their problem.

I normally will wish a person a Merry Christmas because that's what I celebrate. You know that your operating under a false premise that all Republicans are Christian and that the liberals must be everything else. Instead of the fact that the liberals can separate church from state.
Which contrary to Some republican believe is a good thing. Cause imagine what would happen if we put church first? Which Religion which sect would win.

I usually say "Happy Yule" because I am a pagan, and Yule is the winter festival that I celebrate.
I also say "Merry Christmas," "Happy Hannukah," "Happy Holidays," "Seasons Greetings," etc., depending on what pops into my head first.
I have never met anyone who was offended by "Merry Christmas."
I have, however, met several Christians who blew a gasket over "Happy Holidays."

I'm not a democrat, but I am liberal. I wish people who I know are Christian a "blessed Christmas", people I know are not Christian a "joyous holiday season" and people I don't know about a "happy holiday". It's not out of fear of offending, it's out of respect.

I don't know, I usually don't quiz people, who say Merry Christmas to me, about their political affiliation.

Merry Christmas. Why are you so hung up on this? There's a war on and this is what you come up with. They turn off your cable?
